Found Object Assemblages and 3D Mixed Media Experiments
Combining elements of taxidermy, painting, and fabrication, these works question how we perceive and evaluate Nature. Here, the lines between “natural” and “unnatural” are blurred, yielding models that embody the sterilization and consumption of Nature.
The materials for these works are found, purchased, and acquired by means that combine primitive and modern modes of consumption. The construction of each piece is dictated by intuition - a meditation on the structural and subjectively symbolic relationships of objects, and a reimagining of their usefulness and cultural context.
